About

The short, tongue-in-cheek autobiography of Ankit Srivastava

Ankit Srivastava squandered a rather unremarkable childhood reading comics (Dhruva, Nagaraj) and playing cricket in Lucknow, U.P. By the time he graduated from school, his selection in IIT meant that his life had already taken a turn for the predictable.

At IIT, however, he discovered the pleasures of mucking about. 4 years of rigorous academia meant that he became decently talented in several games, dancing, and the general art of 'obiter dictum'. A complete fluke in GRE meant that armed with an unenviable set of skills, he headed for uncle Sam's courtyard.

In UCSD, under the guidance of such champions of slack like khatri bhai, rasia, gunti, rathna etc. his life seemed pretty much on its way. Nowadays, he spends his time scouting one place after another, milking one friendship after another for free food and bakar. And probabilities are working extra hard to account for anything, howsoever small, he has achieved.

-A respectful tribute to Bill Watterson whose autobiography is the most humble and engrossing I have ever read.
