I have no social media account except for one on linkedin. I don't tweet, post, snap, or pin. And I certainly don't "like."
I am an Associate Professor in the Mechanical, Materials, and Aerospace Engineering (MMAE) department at the Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago. I received a Ph.D from the University of California San Diego in the general field of Structural Engineering with specific focus on wave propagation. My adviser at UCSD was Dr. Francesco Lanza di Scalea. I then worked as a postdoctoral researcher in Dr. Nemat Nasser's group at UCSD.
I have also maintained a blog for many years now (Chintan) which has become a rather honest rear view mirror for me, faithfully and sometimes embarrassingly charting the undulating landscape of a personality constantly in flux.
I love reading books and have compiled a list of the ones that I remember having read (Books). No such list can exist without the compiler having to suffer hushed recriminations of pomposity. However it is included here more as a resource for those who are on the look-out for something good to read.
