Well, it is the human tendency to simplify things .. and ordinary least squares is exactly one of the the culmincation of this tendency which we normal people have to accept as a legacy ...
I would think it's human wish to simplify things, to complicate is his tendency
. But it's good to have tools which help us in closing our eyes to the complexity around...
